About Abbey Cwmhir

Cwmhir Abbey (Welsh: Abaty Cwm Hir), near Llandrindod Wells in Powys, is a Welsh Cistercian monastery founded in 1176 by Cadwallon ap Madog.

The Abbey can be found through Home Farm in the centre of the village. The Abbey & Cadw Exhibition Room is open all the time. It’s not far from the beautiful Parish Church of St Marys and the Happy Union Inn.

Abbeycwmhir is on Glyndwrs Way National Trail and on Cycle Route 825.

Parking is available outside Home Farm. The nearest Train station is Penybont Halt. Buses will stop at the junction of the Abbeycwmhir road with the A483.
